A meeting between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi was held, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

The long march, political situation, administrative affairs in Punjab, and the provincial government’s public relief Schemes like the Punjab Ehsaas Ration Discount Programme came under discussion.

Imran Khan and Chaudhry Pervez Elahi raised the demand for an impartial probe into the killing of senior journalist Arshad Sharif in Kenya.

Imran Khan said the government of Pakistan should fulfil its responsibilities. Chaudhry Parvez Elahi expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Kenya on October 23 and the killing sent shock waves across rights organisations, the media fraternity and civil society.

Concerns over poor economy

The two leaders expressed serious concern over the poor economic situation. Imran Khan said the coalition government has failed on every front.

“The long march is jihad for real freedom. The enthusiasm of the people is showing the long march will create a new history,” he added.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that the people of Pakistan are with Imran Khan.” Long march will get rid of the imported government. Imran Khan is a ray of hope for the people of Pakistan,” he added. Chaudhary Pervez Elahi reiterated his resolve to continue backing Imran Khan and his campaign.
