Contrary to the Central Power Purchasing Agency’s (CPPA) request for 20 paisa per unit hike in the fuel price adjustment for the month of September, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday increased its price by 9 paisa per unit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The decision was taken at the Authority’s meeting, which was chaired by its Chairman Tauseef H. Farooqui.

The hike announced was meant for all power distribution companies, except Karachi-Electric (KE), and would put an additional burden of Rs1 billion on consumers.

NEPRA said the detailed verdict would be released later.
