NAB summons ex-commerce secretary in sugar scandal probe

The National Accountability Bureau, Rawalpindi has summoned former commerce secretary on April 28 (tomorrow) in connection with its investigation into sugar scandal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The anti-graft body has decided to make former commerce secretary Younis Dhaga a part of its ongoing inquiry into the sugar scandal. The NAB has asked the former secretary to bring record of all minutes of the inter-ministry meetings.
The NAB has also directed Mr Dhaga to bring all the record, summaries, recommendations and paperwork showing how the price of sugar was determined locally and how it is fixed internationally.
The NAB has also summoned Punjab provincial minister Mian Aslam Iqbal and ex-minister Samiullah Chaudhry.
Chairman and vice chairman of sugar mills, and officials of industries and production ministry would also be included in the investigation.
