Woman seriously injured after set on fire in Gujranwala

A woman, who sustained severe burn injuries in a fire in the People's Colony Police Station area of Gujranwala, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thurday. 

The affected lady, Adeeba, was initially taken to the Gujranwala Civil Hospital, but later referred to Lahore due to her critical condition. 

According to People’s Colony Police, the incident is being investigated as to whether Adeeba set herself on fire or someone else set her ablaze.

It was learnt that Adeeba was the resident of Lahore and had contracted a love with Kamran, a resident of People’s Colony, a year and a half ago. 

The station house officer stated that Adeeba’s mother-in-law claimed that she returned from Lahore and set herself on fire. However, some reports suggested that Adeeba’s in-laws doused her with petrol and set her on fire. 

However, the police are looking into the matter to find out the truth. 

A team has also been dispatched to the Lahore Hospital to take the statement of Adeeba.
