Youth killed by wedding hall guard in Wazirabad over money collection dispute
A tragic incident unfolded outside the Rehmat Palace wedding hall in Wazirabad when a security guard opened fire, killing a young man during a dispute over celebratory money collection from wedding guests.
According to police and eyewitness accounts, the youth, identified as Farrukh Zeb, was shot in the head after an altercation with the guard while allegedly attempting to climb onto a neighbouring roof to collect money thrown during the wedding festivities.
Witnesses said the guard, Alam Zeb, tried to stop Farrukh but when the situation escalated, he opened fire instead of restraining him — a move that turned a minor scuffle into a deadly tragedy. Farrukh, a labourer from the nearby village of Sherakot, died on the spot, Rescue officials confirmed.
The guard fled the scene immediately after the shooting, according to police sources. Law enforcement quickly arrived, secured the area, and took the body into custody for further investigation.
