Balochistan govt to consider CNIC as Health Card: CM Bugti
Chief Minister says provision of medical facilities is his govt’s top priority
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has said that provision of state-of-the-art medical facilities to the people of the province is his government's top priority, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Chief Minister said that the Balochistan government has decided to declare the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) as “Balochistan Health Card” to facilitate the people.
He said that renowned hospitals of Balochistan and all over the country are included in the Balochistan Health Card.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti revealed that 3,45,000 patients got medical facilities through the Balochistan Health Card.
He said that 7.784 angioplasties, 575 bypasses, and surgeries were completed. Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that free medical care was provided to 304 kids suffering from cardiac diseases.
Giving more details, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that 24,688 normal deliveries and 20,344 C-Section operations were performed through the Balochistan Health Card.
The Chief Minister said that the provincial government is taking measures to provide the best medical facilities to the people of the province.
In January 2026, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti took serious notice of reports of the suspension of treatment under the Health Card scheme at some hospitals in Karachi and other cities, directing the authorities to conduct an inquiry into the matter.
Officials said that the chief minister not only took notice of the complaints but also expressed strong displeasure, instructing provincial health officials to probe the issue.
“Under no circumstances should the treatment of patients from Balochistan be stopped under the Health Card scheme introduced by the provincial government,” the chief minister said. He also ordered that all outstanding dues of hospitals be cleared.
