Two children killed in Lahore warehouse fire, another receives burn injuries

A tragic fire in a scrap warehouse in the China Scheme area of Lahore claimed the lives of two children and left another injured, officials said on Monday.

According to initial reports, the blaze erupted in a warehouse storing scrap materials, quickly engulfing the premises. Rescue teams responded promptly and managed to bring the fire under control after a timely operation.

The injured child was immediately shifted to Mayo Hospital, where medical treatment is underway.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir and Assistant Commissioner Shalimar Town Aamir Butt reached the site to assess the situation and oversee relief efforts.

Authorities confirmed that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed that all medical expenses of the injured child be borne by the government.

Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, the provincial minister extended condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of full support.

Officials said an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire and fix responsibility, vowing that those found negligent will be held accountable.
