Army continues rescue and relief operation in rain-affected Karachi

Pakistan Army Thursday continues its rescue and relief operation in rain-affected Karachi and rural areas of the Sindh province.
Army Engineers machinery including heavy plant effort is in progress to stop water flow from Malir Nadi by refilling the breached area. As a result, water in Malir Nadi has reduced and backflow from Quaidabad to Malir Nadi has started.
Army Engineers boats are employed in various areas to shift stranded people to safer places. The cooked meal is being provided to the affected population struck due to heavy rains.
More than 200 families marooned on rooftops due to heavy flooding in Malir Nadi, Kohi Goth and Dur Muhammad Goth. Due to the heavy water current at the moment, Army helicopters will be flown to rescue these families after weather clearance.
