Afghan refugees’ arrival: Mobile video, photography banned at Karachi airport
Authorities have imposed a ban on the use of mobile cameras at the Karachi airport in connection with the Afghan refugees’ arrival to Pakistan.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the joint director of the vigilance of Karachi airport, Friday prohibited any type of photography or video making through the cellular phones in the lounges and aprons.
A letter has also been sent to all domestic and foreign airlines and airline operators regarding the imposition of the ban and termed the video making and photography at the airport a security risk.
It was stated in the letter that making videos on airport lounges and aprons is a security risk so mobile phones and airport entry cards of concerned employees would be confiscated for violating instructions.
According to the sources, the letter was issued in the context of the promising arrival of foreigners from Afghanistan at Karachi Airport as per the government policy.
