Nation should stand together to help flood victims: Bilawal

August 27, 2022 08:06 PM

PPP Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said the country is facing history’s worst flood crisis and all the nation should stand together to help the flood victims as much as possible, reported 24 News HD TV Channel on Saturday.

In an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation, Bilawal Bhutto said that the opposition may play Jalsa Jalsa but our top priority is to stand with the flood victims and provide them with relief assistance.

He said that there is no government capable of dealing with such a huge natural calamity.

“All the provinces are badly affected by the torrential rains and floods; Sindh province is the worst flood-hit province in the country. All the districts of Sindh suffered a huge loss of lives and property. Crops, houses, goods, and livestock were all swept away in the water. Eighty thousand families of the Larkana district have only been displaced and they need shelter, food, and medicines. There are only 90 thousand tents in Sindh government, which are insufficient. The province currently needs one million tents at least,” he added.

Criticizing PTI Chairman Imran Khan, he said those who oppose our efforts for dealing with the national calamity are not interested in helping the flood victims.

“Imran Khan is doing politics at this critical hour of the country”, he rued.

He appealed that all the political parties will have to face difficult times. I have not seen such destruction in my entire life, he added.
