LGH renews license after meeting advanced infection control standards

Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has secured the renewal of its operating license after fulfilling all mandatory healthcare quality and infection control standards, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday. 

LGH was initially granted its operating license in 2018 for a period of five years, making it the first such license issued to the hospital.

The license expired in 2023, after which the hospital undertook continuous, dedicated, and systematic reforms to meet all required regulatory indicators.

Following the successful completion of these measures, the license has now been renewed.

Hospital officials emphasised that providing a clean, hygienic, and infection-free environment is a fundamental patient right and a core responsibility of hospital administration, as it directly affects patient outcomes, morbidity, and mortality.

In line with this principle, LGH has strengthened infection control and healthcare quality indicators through robust systems and structured monitoring mechanisms.

Lahore General Hospital is uniquely distinguished by having a fully functional and dedicated Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) Department.

As part of its key achievements, LGH secured the Advanced Category in the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) inspection.

It also remains the only hospital with a dedicated Infection Control and MSDS website, along with a customised mobile application designed to enable real-time monitoring, transparency and accountability.
