Top militant commander killed in South Waziristan operation

A top militant commander who was blamed for the death of 50 security personal in Pakistan’s militancy-hit tribal areas was killed in an operation conducted by the security forces in South Waziristan on Friday.
According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), media wing of the Pakistan Army, militant commander Nooristan, aka Hassan Baba, was killed in an intelligence-based operation in the Tiarza Subdivision in the South Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was behind major terrorist attacks in South Waziristan and was an expert in landmine making and martial arts.
According to the ISPR, commander Nooristan joined the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Baitullah Mehsood Group in 2007. In 2016, the TTP made him commander of the Khesura area.
