A police official was martyred and two others sustained injuries when dacoits opened fire on a raiding police party in Zorgarh area of Kandhkot, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Reportedly, police were informed that some dacoits in the vicinity of Gablo police station in Kandhkot kidnapped a driver of a Mazda van. A police party went after the dacoits. When the criminals saw them coming, they opened fire on the cops. Police also retaliated. 

As a result, a police official was martyred while two other cops sustained injuries. 

According to police spokesperson, the law enforcers managed to rescue the kidnapped driver. 

However, the dacoits fled the scene while firing in the air. 

The spokesperson said that a heavy contingent of police was rushed to the Kuchha area.

He said that the dead and injured were shifted to the hospital.
