KP CM Sohail Afridi vows to defend ‘every inch’ of Pakistan amid border tensions

Sohail Afridi has said that protecting every inch of Pakistan is a national duty, as tensions persist along the Pak-Afghan border.

In a statement on the prevailing situation, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister termed the current tension on the border as worrying and said the provincial government was closely monitoring developments.

“Protecting every inch of Pakistan is the national duty of all of us. We will not allow anyone to compromise on the security of the border areas,” he said.

Afridi condemned any form of provocation or external aggression along the Pak-Afghan border and stressed that there would be no compromise on national security. He added that the provincial government was in constant contact with relevant institutions regarding the evolving situation.

The chief minister said ensuring the protection of residents in border areas was the government’s top priority and that necessary measures were being taken in this regard. He acknowledged public concerns arising from the tensions and assured that the government would not leave the people of border regions alone under any circumstances.

Afridi also directed the provincial administration to remain alert to deal with any emergency situation, emphasizing that responsible conduct was essential for maintaining peace and stability.
