Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said his party will observe a black day today (Thursday) over the use of force against the party workers staging a demo in front of the Chief Minister's House against the Local Government Bill.
An MQM-P worker died while dozens of others sustained injuries as police used tear-gas shelling and baton-charge to disperse the demonstrators.
“We do not want to fight but we know how to fight. Let Prime Minister Imran Khan decide to whom he supports,” Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said and described the use of force against protesters as an attack on the dignity of muhajir.
He urged traders to keep their businesses shut on Thursday. Siddiqui also slammed the Sindh police chief and urged the PM to take action against the CM and police chief.
PTI minister Ali Zaidi telephoned the MQM-P leader and showed solidarity with the victim party.
He expressed condolence over the death of a protester and blamed the killing on the Sindh police and government.
He said such brutality is highly condemnable and the Sindh CM be booked in connection with the incident. He assured the MQM-P leadership of all-out support
