Shafay Hussain calls for unity in Chaudhry brothers’ political journey

Pakistan Muslim League Quaid leader Chaudhry Shafay Hussain has expressed his steadfast commitment to keeping the Chaudhry family together, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

 Addressing the corner meeting in Gujrat, Hussain took a jibe at former federal minister Moonis Elahi, saying, ‘’Moonis Elahi, who is sitting abroad, is having an ego.’’

Asserting the importance of familial cohesion, Shafay Hussain said that he and former federal minister Salik Hussain want to ''unite'' the political family of the Chaudhry brothers.

‘’It was two and a half years ago that Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s family expressed a desire to stage its own politics.

In the past, Parvez Elahi used to run the election campaign himself,’’ he said.

 ‘’A group of a maximum of 25 people in the PML-Q had kept the party workers far from Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and I had never told any of the officers to get involved in political vendettas,’’ Hussain stated.

He said, ‘’It was Zahoor Elahi who started the politics of my family’’.

Hussain lavished his praise on Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, saying, ‘’The politics of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain have always revolved around serving the people.

Chaudhry Shujaat has never thought about his personal interests but is rather concerned about the betterment of the masses.’’

 ‘’It is not the tradition of the Chaudhry family to take 25 percent commission from the contractors. It is not our habit to stage bogus drama in front of the masses.’’

Shafay Hussain recounted his unwavering support for Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, even during his incarceration.

 “We are not in the habit of lying and drama in public,” he said adding that   Shujaat Hussain and he have never told any officer to take political revenge against anyone.

“Shujaat Hussain himself came to know from the TV news that action was being taken against Pervez Elahi, he maintained. 

He continued that he had not taken revenge against anyone including Parvez Elahi’s family. He further dispelled rumors of vendettas, urging against the spread of false propaganda.

Shafay Hussain clarified that neither he nor Shujaat Hussain instructed officials to retaliate against any individuals.

Reflecting on the family's political origins initiated by Zahoor Elahi, Shafi Hussain credited Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain for his dedication to serving the public interest. He refuted claims of commission-taking within the family, stressing their commitment to transparency and ethical governance.
