SC throws out petition of employee who received Rs1.4m salary for single day

A three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed heard the case of pension of a 19-grade employee who received a salary of Rs 1.4 million for a single day and rejected the appeal of petitioner Bahadur Nawab Khattak demanding pension of 14 years, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The petitioner through his lawyer claimed that Bahadur Nawab Khattak inducted in 1996 and then he was terminated but he was reinstatement as per The Sacked Employees (reinstatement) Act 2010 to which Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed remarked he did only one day's work and got incentives of 14 years.
“Even the Act you have mentioned did not contain incentives at all,” the CJP remarked.
“You have brought this wonderful case to the court,” Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed remarked.
Chief Justice questioned should Pakistan give him the entire treasury of Pakistan for his services.
“What could be more a robbery than this case? That is why Pakistan has reached this situation,” the CJP said.
Justice Ejaz-ul-Haq remarked that the petitioner worked for one day and took a salary of Rs. 1.4 million.
Justice Ejaz-ul-Hassan said, “If you say, we will reopen the case then we will know how received Rs 1.4 million? If such things happen, then Pakistan will go bankrupt.”
