PM to consult Opp leader on ECP members’ appointment: Fawad

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has rejected the impression that there is some kind of lockdown between the government and the opposition on the matter of appointment of election commission’s members saying that Prime Minister Imran Khan will consult with the opposition leader on this matter as required by the constitution, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In his tweet posted on Tuesday, Fawad Ch said this is a wrong impression that there is a lockdown between the government and the opposition on the appointment of election commission members. The prime minister will consult with the leader of the opposition as required by the constitution on this affair.
Fawad said that a strong and unanimously accepted Election Commission of Pakistan is in favour of Pakistan. Imran Khan is struggling to bring about a transparent system.

He said that the government wants to move forward with an open heart on electoral reforms and NAB laws. We want a parliamentary consensus on big issues. The stability of the political system is hidden in the respect of the constitution.
He further tweeted that the consensus on elections, accountability and national security would provide stability to the political system.
