Indian actress hitting producer with chappal goes viral
Actress Ruchi Gujjar caused a dramatic scene at a Mumbai theatre after she struck director-actor Man Singh with a chappal during the screening of his latest film, So Long Valley.
The shocking moment was caught on camera and has since gone viral on social media.
The incident took place at Cinepolis, where Ruchi arrived with a group of protestors, shouting slogans and waving banners targeting the film’s producers. Posters seen in the footage featured the producers’ faces marked with red crosses, and some even depicted them seated on donkeys.
According to media reports, the confrontation stems from a financial dispute between Ruchi and another producer, Karan Singh Chauhan. Ruchi claims that Chauhan approached her last year with an offer to co-produce a Hindi TV serial that was supposedly set to air on Sony TV.
She alleges that after receiving related documents, she transferred multiple payments from her company, SR Event and Entertainment, into accounts linked to K Studios, which is connected to Chauhan.
However, the promised TV serial never saw the light of day. “Despite repeated follow-ups, he kept delaying and lying,” Ruchi said, adding that she now believes the funds were instead diverted to produce So Long Valley.
The Mumbai Police have filed an FIR against Karan Singh Chauhan for allegedly defrauding Ruchi Gujjar.
