Mishal Malik laments India’s crackdown on helpless Kashmiris

In a video statement, Mishal Malik, the wife of jailed Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, said that Kashmiris are being forcibly evicted from their homes, stripped of their identity, and denied their very right to live with dignity.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, she stated that the oppression inflicted under India's draconian laws has now become unbearable for the people of Kashmir. 

"Even the roofs over the heads of these oppressed Kashmiris have been snatched away without a single opportunity for justice," she said.

Mishal lamented that to crush the Kashmiris' legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination, India has resorted to the use of chains and guns. 

"Despite decades of sacrifices, the world remains silent in the face of Kashmiris' suffering," she added.

She accused the Indian government of grabbing Kashmiris’ businesses, lands, and even their rivers. 

"Martyrdoms, prisons, and devastation have been made the fate of Kashmiris," Mishal said, expressing anguish over the worsening humanitarian crisis.

Mishal Malik issued a strong call to the United Nations, urging it to wake up to this grave injustice.

"If the UN continues to stay silent, history will punish this silence," she warned.

She concluded by saying that when the last shelter of the oppressed is also taken away, their cries shake the very heavens. 

"In the effort to suppress Kashmir’s pain, even humanity is being trampled," she said.
