Plastic bottle plant making fake branded bottles sealed in Lahore
Acting on the orders of DG Punjab Food Authority Asim Javaid, a late-night raid was conducted by food safety teams on Ferozepur Road, where a plastic bottle manufacturing unit was found supplying counterfeit bottles to illegal drink units across the city, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to officials, the unit was producing fake plastic bottles of well-known brands and operating secretly inside a residential area. An FIR was lodged on the spot, and the unit has been sealed.
During the raid, the teams seized 1,100 fake bottles labelled with various popular brands, 2 mould dies, a blowing machine, and 9 sacks of preform raw material.
DG Asim Javaid said, “The unit was not only violating food safety laws by using substandard plastic but also facilitating the network of counterfeit drink producers across the province.”
The vigilance team launched the operation based on a confidential tip-off, successfully foiling a major supply of fake drink bottles just before distribution.
Asim Javaid warned that the net is tightening around those enabling health-endangering crimes, saying, “Those faking food products in the name of business will be dealt with zero tolerance. Their days are numbered.”
