Prof Dr Nadia Naseem takes additional charge as UHS Vice Chancellor
Prof Dr Nadia Naseem has assumed the additional charge of Vice Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore, following the completion of the four-year tenure of Prof Dr Ahsan Waheed Rathore.
According to a notification issued by the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education (SHC&ME) Department, dated July 21, 2026, Prof Nadia Naseem officially took charge of the office on Monday.
A distinguished academic, researcher and medical educationist, Prof Nadia Naseem currently serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Morbid Anatomy and Histopathology at UHS.
She has also completed a three-year term as the University's Pro-Vice Chancellor, gaining extensive experience in academic leadership and university administration.
During her long association with UHS, she has held several key administrative positions, including Controller of Examinations and Registrar, playing a vital role in managing the University's academic, examination and administrative affairs.

Prof Nadia Naseem graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore, and later earned both her MPhil and PhD in Histopathology from UHS.
She is widely recognized for her contributions to medical research, having authored more than 120 research papers. She has also received numerous national and international research grants, fellowships and awards in recognition of her academic excellence and research achievements.
Her appointment as acting Vice Chancellor is expected to ensure continuity in the University's academic and administrative functions until a regular Vice Chancellor is appointed.
