In a significant development in Narowal Sports City corruption case investigation against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Ahsan Iqbal, the co-accused is ready to become an approver in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The NAB said the name of the approver would be kept secret.
The NAB has not yet filed a reference in Narowal Sports City project against Ahsan Iqbal. On last Friday, the accountability court directed the Bureau to submit a report explaining the reasons behind the delay in filing reference while Ahsan Iqbal appeared before the court.
The NAB prosecutor had sought more time to file the reference citing witnesses not showing up due to coronavirus pandemic. The government officials are keeping themselves ‘safe’ by not coming to the NAB office due to the coronavirus fear.
The NAB has now decided to record the statements of the witnesses through video link.
The case hearing has been adjourned till July 20.
