The FBR has made a change in sales tax on petroleum products according to which the 17% sales tax would remain unchanged on petrol and high-speed diesel while sales tax on kerosene oil has been reduced from 9.15% to 6.7%, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a notification issued by the Federal Board of Revenue on Sunday, an adjustment has been made in the prices of petroleum products.

The 17% tax rate on petrol and high-speed diesel will stay whereas the FBR has lowered the levy on Kerosene oil from 9.15% to 6.7%.

The sales tax on light diesel has been slashed from 2.74% to 0.2%.
