Bilawal inaugurates people’s bus service for Karachi

Foreign Minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inaugurated on Monday the People’s Intra District Bus Service project for Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Information Minister Sharjeel Memon, Labour Minister Saeed Ghani and other ministers were also present on the occasion.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said on the occasion that the People’s Intra District Bus Service project was inaugurated that day.
“There are seven routes in the bus service project. The first route will be from Model Colony, Malir Cantt to Tower,” he added.
“The Sindh government is solving the problems of the people. We want industries to be set up in Karachi,” he claimed, adding that unemployment would decrease if industries were set up in Karachi.

He further claimed that the Sindh government wanted to provide essential items to the people on subsidised prices, lamenting that a step-motherly behaviour was shown to Sindh province in the past.
He said that the people’s buses would ply seven routes in Karachi, adding that the bus had already started to ply the first route.

“The buses can be compared to the standards of any developed country,” he said and reiterated that the government had done a lot for the welfare of journalists.
The provincial information minister also stated that the Sindh government was accelerating the pace of development works in the province.
He gave the credit for the launch of the bus service to PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
It merits a mention here that around 240 air-conditioned buses, imported from China, will be plied on seven routes in Karachi as part of the intra-district bus project.
