FO summons US Deputy Chief to deliver demarche over US-India joint statement

The Foreign Ministry Monday summoned the US Deputy Chief of Mission to deliver a strong demarche over the US-India Joint statement a couple of days ago.

According to the FO, Pakistan’s concerns and disappointment at the unwarranted, one-sided and misleading references in the joint statement were conveyed to the US.

The FO stressed the US should refrain from issuing statements that may be construed as encouragement of India’s baseless and politically-motivated narrative against Pakistan.

It emphasised that counter-terrorism cooperation between Pakistan and US has been progressing well and an enabling environment centred around trust and understanding, is imperative to further solidify Pakistan-US ties.
