Naval Chief highlights regional maritime challenges during visit to Navy War College Lahore

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf on Friday visited the Pakistan Navy War College in Lahore, where he addressed participants of the 54th Staff Course and emphasized the evolving nature of maritime security in the region, said a statements issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In his address, Admiral Ashraf shed light on the complex security dynamics unfolding in the Indian Ocean Region, calling it a rapidly shifting arena in the global power struggle. He noted that regional instability and emerging threats demand constant vigilance and strategic adaptation.

“The maritime security challenges facing Pakistan are intensifying due to the changing regional landscape,” said the Naval Chief.

Stressing the need to modernise traditional war strategies, Admiral Ashraf said that aligning military doctrine with contemporary realities is essential in the face of both conventional and non-conventional threats.

“Adjusting traditional war strategies with modern requirements is the most important need of the hour,” he stated.

He underscored the importance of building a technologically advanced and intellectually capable workforce, stating that the future of warfare will be determined not just by equipment but by the intelligence and adaptability of personnel.

“Preparing an intelligent and technologically equipped workforce is very important to win future wars,” the Naval Chief emphasized.

Admiral Ashraf also reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy's unwavering commitment to safeguarding national maritime interests, stating:

“The Pakistan Navy is always ready to deal with all kinds of threats—conventional or otherwise.”

During the visit, the Naval Chief commended the dedication and professional excellence of the staff course participants and congratulated the officers who successfully completed the course.
