Watta-Satta woman found tortured to death in Karachi
Police recovered the dead body of a woman who had died due to severe physical torture by her husband and her father honor in Karachi on Friday, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The incident took place in the Afghan Basti located in Gulshan-e-Mamar locality of Karachi.
According to details, the woman who was later identified as Erum, aged 25, wanted to get a divorce from her husband as they were involved in a Watta-Satta marriage.
After her demand, the husband of the woman, Noor Mohammad and her father, Yaseen, severely tortured her which resulted into her death.
After receiving an intelligence report, a police team raided the house and impounded the dead body of the woman.
Police after registering a case of murder against the husband and father of the woman started a search operation to apprehend the culprits.
Police also obtained necessary evidence from the crime scene.
Watta-Satta is an exchange marriage common in Pakistan which involves simultaneous marriage of a brother-sister pair from two households.
