Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday said that people of Pakistan by now had become quite familiar with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government’s ‘incompetence’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to media men in Lahore, she alleged that the PTI government was not only ‘incompetent’, but also ‘a bunch of corrupt and plunderers’. “Now when they have failed to deliver on their promises they had to the people during their months-long sit-in in Islamabad, they are now telling lies to shield their failures,” she alleged.

Spokesperson for the PML-N said when the provision of 10 million jobs and construction of five million homes was impossible, then lying became inevitable. “This is the same person who used to say that whenever there was a price hike, this meant that the prime minister was a thief,” Marriyum said referring to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

She further said calling political opponents thieves and thugs was PTI leaders’ habit.

PML-N leader said it was unfortunate that despite taking loans worth billions of rupees, the present government did nothing for the country.

She said when Shahzad Akbar, special assistant to PM, was asked questions about Broadsheet, receiving kickbacks, he felt offended.

She reminded that commissions had been formed on sugar and wheat scandals in order to put the culprits behind bars, but despite much talk about arresting Jahangir Tareen and Khusro Bakhtiar in connection with the sugar scam, no arrest was made.

Marriyum said when inquiry into sugar scandal was over, the price of the commodity shot up to Rs120 per kilo. “How on earth can PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz be blamed for the sugar crisis, when they both were in jail at that time?” she questioned.

She said it was on PM Imran orders that Rs300 billion subsidy was given on sugar.

PML-N spokesperson said that sugar and other mafias were present in the federal cabinet. “Jahangir Tareen and Khusro Bakhtiar minted billions in connivance with Punjab CM Sardar Usman Buzdar,” she alleged.

Marriyum regretted that use of abusive language had become a norm in country’s politics.

She said she had never said that politicians should not be criticised. “We should be criticised for the betterment of the country,” she stressed.

She made it clear that when state institutions violated the constitution, then it was inevitable that they would be criticised.

Marriyum said PML-N was the only party which protested on streets and roads. “Even party supremo Nawaz Sharif had suggested that the long march be named as anti-inflation march,” she claimed.

She said it was unfortunate that Shahbaz Sharif was not given his medical report despite the passage of one month. “This shows the inferior mentality of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government,” she said.
