FPCCI condemns propaganda against Pakistan’s GSP Plus status

The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has strongly condemned negative propaganda against Pakistan's GSP Plus Status and termed it a lifeline for Pakistan’s economy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a Press conference in Karachi on Friday, Senior Vice-President of FPCCI Saquib Fayyaz Magoon said that the GSP Plus Status was awarded to Pakistan in 2013.

He said that there was a 66 percent tariff line in Europe, but Pakistan was allowed to import free of cost.

He further said that till 2026, total exports of Pakistan to European countries were $8 billion. Saquib Fayyaz said that GSP Status was granted to Pakistan from 2013 to 2023, and later it was expanded till 2027.

Saquib Fayyaz Magoon said that they should not become a part of this negative propaganda.

Pakistan had achieved remarkable success in Marak-e-Haq and there would be more efforts to lift the national economy, he added.

Saquib Fayyaz Magoon said that the textile sector plays a vital role in the export sector. He said that they accepted the challenge for a $100 billion exports target.

He assured the government of his all-out support. He asked the government to take strict action against those who are spreading negative propaganda.
