Man handed prison term for sending obnoxious videos of woman to her in-laws
A court in Karachi-East on Friday sentenced a man to nine years in prison for sending objectionable videos and photos of a woman, who had refused to develop sexual relationship with him, to her in-laws, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Judge Gulrez Memon also fined Imad Rs1 million.
In the written verdict, the judge opined that the government should launch a campaign in order to make people aware of such incidents.
The woman had lodged a complaint against the man with the Cyber Crime Cell.
According to the prosecution, Imad was woman’s friend who had come to meet her in the absence of her husband and pressed her to have sex with him.
When the woman refused, he lost his temper and shared her videos and photos on her family’s WhatsApp group.
The judge observed that the man did all this to take revenge on the woman for refusing to sexually satisfy him.
It was also a vivid example, the judge wrote, of man’s unwillingness to listen to any refusal by a woman.
The judge opined that no male could force a woman to go against her will.
“The government needs to do serious work in this regard,” read the verdict.
