Interior minister says unit personnel will be taught Chinese language
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi said on Friday that the government was going to form a Special Protection Unit for the protection of foreign nationals living in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking to China’s ambassador in Pakistan Jiang Zaidong during his visit to the Chinese embassy, he said that the unit would ensure the safety of Chinese citizens living in the federal capital.
“The personnel of the unit will also be taught Chinese language during their training,” the minister added.
Both held a detailed discussion on anti-terrorism, security cooperation, police exchange programme and other matters.
Overall situation in the region also came under discussion at the meeting.
It was decided that Business Conference would be held to resolve the security issues confronting the Chinese investors in the country.
It was agreed that in the first phase, meetings would be held with the members of the Chinese business community living in Pakistan, while in the second phase, meetings would be held with the businessmen and industrialists interested in investing in Pakistan.
