CTD arrests two terrorists in Karachi and seizes 10 roll bombs, safety fuses

A major counterterrorism operation carried out jointly by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and an intelligence agency in Karachi led to the arrest of two suspected militants allegedly linked to the banned Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the suspects were identified as Allah Dino, son of Ghulam Muhammad, and Faraz Ahmed, also known as Toto.

The arrests were made during separate raids conducted in different areas of Karachi.

CTD officials said the detained men were allegedly involved in terrorist activities and were found in possession of weapons and explosive material.

Police recovered 10 improvised roll-shaped bombs and eight safety fuses during the operation.

Karachi police have registered cases against the suspects under the Explosives Act and anti-terrorism provisions.

Karachi police investigators said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle militant networks operating in Sindh.

According to investigators, Faraz Ahmed had previously been wanted in other criminal cases and was allegedly involved in planning attacks on sensitive installations.

During preliminary interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to participating in several militant activities along with accomplices.

Investigators claimed he admitted involvement in the firing attack on a Chinese dental clinic in Karachi’s Saddar area, in which a doctor was killed and two other people were injured.

A spokesperson for the CTD Sindh said further investigations were under way and efforts had begun to trace and arrest facilitators linked to the suspects and their alleged network.
