Recep Tayyip Erdogan calls Netanyahu a “tyrant” over genocide in Gaza

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday strongly criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the occasion of Eid ul Adha, calling him a “tyrant” and accusing Israel’s leadership of continuing oppression against Palestinians in Gaza.

Speaking to reporters after offering Eid prayers at the Çamlıca Mosque, Erdogan said he believed Muslims around the world would give a “proper lesson” to Netanyahu over what he described as Israel’s oppressive actions in Gaza.

Erdogan has remained one of the most vocal critics of Israel’s military campaign in the Palestinian territory and has repeatedly demanded an immediate ceasefire and greater humanitarian access for civilians affected by the conflict.

Turkey has consistently condemned Israel’s operations in Gaza and has called on the international community to take stronger steps to stop the violence and support humanitarian relief efforts for Palestinians.
