Karachi surgeons remove 3kg heavy tumour from woman’s liver

Surgeons in Karachi have successfully removed a heavy tumour while performing a liver transplant operation at Dow University of Health Sciences, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A 29-year-old woman underwent a successful operation of liver transplantation and the surgeons had removed more than three kilograms of tumour from the patient’s liver.
According to Dr Saeed Qureshi, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of DUHS, it was a dangerous surgery but specialist surgeons led by Dr Jahanzaib and Dr Muhammad Iqbal saved the life of the woman.
Dr Saeed Qureshi has said that about 70 percent of the woman's liver was affected due to the diagnosed tumor.
However, after the operation, the woman is recovering fast and hopefully, she will be able to lead a normal life, added the DUHS VC.
Meanwhile, the woman's family thanked the doctors’ team, saying most of the hospitals in the country had refused to operate on the woman.
