Court sends Imran Khan on judicial remand in Al-Qadir Trust case

Rejecting the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) request for an extension in the physical remand of former prime minister and PTI Chairman in 190 million pounds case (Al-Qadir Trust case), an accountability court (AC) in Islamabad on Monday sent him to jail on a 14-day judicial remand instead, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

AC judge Muhammad Bashir heard the case.

Three days ago, the accountability court, while accepting the NAB’s plea, granted to it four-day physical remand of the PTI chief in the case.

During the hearing, PTI chairman’s lawyer Latif Khosa and the NAB Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi were also present.

Counsel for the NAB told the court that additional time was required to question Imran in the case.

A few days earlier, on Tuesday the same court had extended physical remand of the former prime minister for two days in the 190 million pounds case.

However, it extended the period of Bushra Bibi’s interim bail for another eight days.
