NAB's 2nd team reaches Adiala Jail to interrogate PTI chief

The second team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigators on Sunday arrived at Adiala jail to prob PTI chief and former premier Imran Khan about the £190 million case, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

The NAB’s team led by Additional Director Uzair Ullah reached Adiala Jail with the necessary documents.

A team of NAB has already departed from Adiala Jail after hours-long questioning of Imran Khan.  

The anti-graft body team questioned many papers and pieces of evidence relevant to the case during the investigation.

The questioning, ongoing since November 15, focuses on the alleged involvement of the PTI chairman in the £190 million case.

Imran Khan, seeking bail in the matter, faces charges related to the Al-Qadir Trust case as well.

It is pertinent that the NAB initiated an investigation against Imran Khan and his wife, along with others, regarding the alleged acquisition of extensive land in the name of Al Qadir University Trust.

This purportedly led to a loss of £190 million to the national exchequer. The charges further allege that the former prime minister and other accused individuals adjusted Rs50 billion, equivalent to 190 million pounds at the time, sent by Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) to the government.

Imran Khan has recently approached the Supreme Court seeking bail in connection with the £190 million case.
