Police torture youth, set him on fire in Larkana

Police in Larkana have allegedly perpetrated such a grievous act of brutality on a citizen that breaks all norms of civility and justice, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

According to details, police entered the house of a youth, Abdul Majeed Jatoi, in Larkana and subjected him to severe torture. After beating him black and blue, they allegedly doused him with petrol and set him on fire.

After the police left, the neighbours took Majeed Jatoi to the Burn Unit in Chandka Hospital in a precarious condition. Sixty percent of the body of the youth has been burnt.

Larkana SSP Abdul Raheem Shirazi took notice of the incident.

Talking to the media, the SSP said that the matter would be investigated. “We have to determine whether the youth set himself on fire or the police officials have done this. If police officials are found guilty in the inquiry, strict action will be taken against them,” he assured.
