Aishwarya Rai to become Ayesha Rai? Mufti Qavi unveils marriage proposal
Mufti Abdul Qavi’s latest public remarks about the personal life of Indian actress Aishwarya Rai have stirred fresh controversy after the Pakistani cleric claimed he expects to marry the Bollywood star.
The comments, reported by an Indian news outlet on Thursday, have circulated widely on social media following the release of a viral video in which the cleric makes the assertions.
In the footage, Mufti Abdul Qavi suggests that Aishwarya may soon approach him with a marriage proposal, citing unverified reports that her marriage to actor Abhishek Bachchan is facing difficulties.
He goes on to predict that if the couple separates, he expects the actress to contact him “in two to four months” with an offer of marriage.

Pressed during the interview about marrying someone outside his faith, Qavi responds that he would first seek to convert the actress to Islam and would subsequently give her the name “Ayesha Rai.”
He references the case of Indian entertainer Rakhi Sawant, who previously claimed to have embraced Islam, as a precedent for his declaration.
Mufti Abdul Qavi has drawn similar attention before. He once publicly proposed to Sawant, who dismissed the offer with a remark that “tolerating Mufti Qavi is not easy” and described the cleric as “a very different person.”
His newest statements have again invited mockery, criticism, and disbelief online, with many questionings both their plausibility and the cleric’s repeated use of celebrity names to generate viral attention.
