Forces need well-thought-out strategy to remain prepared for wars, says outgoing CJCSC

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, who retired today, said in his farewell speech on Thursday that the country’s armed forces would have to chalk out a comprehensive strategy to remain prepared for wars in the future, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

He said that the world was changing at an incredibly fast pace, and these rapid shifts are deeply influencing both Pakistan’s internal and external security challenges.

He noted that the nature of threats now ranged from hybrid confrontation to a full-scale war.

“In these circumstances, our forces will have to show greater understanding and cooperation,” he said, and added that such understanding and cooperation were the need of the hour.

Mirza underscored the need for a fully empowered and adequately equipped military structure, calling it a “practical necessity” for the system.

The outgoing general, on the occasion, expressed his good wishes for all three forces, especially for Joint Staff Headquarters.
