Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif is spending his time in a NAB prison by reading international relations and political science books, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

PML-N leader Attaullah Tarrar provided books to his leader in the jail on his demand, the TV channel reported.

Shehbaz Sharif is reading Erdogan's Empire: Turkey and the Politics of the Middle East book by Soner Cagaptay. Mussolini's War: Fascist Italy from Triumph to Collapse penned by John Gooch.

The leader of the Opposition has also been provided with a book on his request which is Twilight of Democracy: The Seductive Lure of Authoritarianism by Anne Applebaum. 

The Twilight Democracy is a 2020 book that discusses the democratic decline and the rise of right-wing populist politics with authoritarian tendencies, with three main case studies: Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
