Bilawal meets Fazl: says JUI no interested in becoming opposition leader

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called on JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and discussed the country's political situation, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was accompanied by Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Humayun Khan and Jamil Soomro. Former Federal Minister Maulana Asad Mahmood and Mufti Abrar were also present in the meeting. National and political issues discussed in the meeting and it was agreed to continue contact. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari invites Maulana Fazlur Rehman to his house which was accepted by Maulana Fazlur Rehman. 

Talking to media, Fazl said meeting with Bilawal was a goodwill gesture and it was not an agenda meeting. Fazl said no constitutional amendment was discussed in the meeting. JUI Chief made it clear that he has no interest in becoming the opposition leader, nor was there any such talk.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said if contacted, he will make concerned efforts to broker deal between Pakistan and Afghan Taliban. He said national interest was JUI priority. JUI chief said, “We will work only in the national interest. Even if there are policy differences, we do not want to see Pakistan's problems increase”. 

Maulana said Pak-Afghan tension was not in favour of beneficial for both countries. Maulana Fazl said national behaviors were moving towards strictness and there was need to bring softness and flexibility in our approaches.

JUI chief said making a statement and then publicizing it was not the solution to the problem.
