Pakistan Airports Authority unveils Digital Cashless Payment System

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has introduced a new digital cashless payment system across its airports, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The passengers and staff will now use QR codes to pay for parking, lounge access, fast track services, and other amenities.

The cashless system will be introduced at Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad airports in the first phase.

In the second phase, the system will be installed at Faisalabad, Multan, and Sialkot airports.

The change reflects the broader push by the government to move toward a cashless economy and improve transparency in public services. With more people traveling and airport services expanding, digital payments help reduce waiting times, improve accountability, and offer a better user experience.

Airport retail and food outlets will also accept digital payments, making it easy to shop or dine during your journey.

Transaction records will be generated automatically, allowing better tracking of what you pay and minimizing disputes or errors.
