Lahore police arrest three bookies over Asia Cup gambling
Police arrested three bookies who were involved in online gambling during foreign league matches and the Asia Cup in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The bookies were arrested from the Johar Town area of Lahore.
The accused were later identified as Imran, Imad, and Islam. The bookies were involved in gambling on the Pakistan and India cricket matches currently being played in Dubai.
Police also recovered Rs100,000, two laptops, and three mobile phones from their possession.
The accused were involved in gambling through using different mobile phone applications.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rana Hussain Tahir said that the police, after registering a case against the accused, started an investigation.
