Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar taking notice of incident of torture on poor rickshaw driver in Sahiwal suspended five police officials involved in alleged torture on Tuesday. The CM has also sought a report from DPO Sahiwal.

In a video statement which went viral on Monday, rickshaw driver Khalid Noor said that he was taking his ailing father to the hospital for the treatment. Police officials stopped him on Sahiwal picket and tortured him despite his constant request.

According to the rickshaw driver police officials snatch cash from him as well which he was accumulated for the treatment of his father.

DPO Sahiwal has initiated inquiry after finding them proved guilty in preliminary inquiry.

The CM directed to sent bouquet to father of rickshaw driver Khalid Noor who is under treatment in DHQ Hospital Okara and said that safeguarding the lives, respect and property of poor man is his responsibility and he will fulfill this responsibility with zeal and zest.

He said that action will be taken against the police officials according to the law who are found involved in committing torture on the citizen.
