Afghan President pays secret visit to Pakistan 

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani secretly visited Pakistan some month ago to hold talks on peace efforts in Afghanistan with the Pakistani high ups, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel Wednesday.

During his secret visit, the Afghan President called on Pak Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa at Chaklala Airbase where he reached in a private plane. In the meeting, both sides discussed the aftermath of the situations that could be emerged after leaving the US troops from Afghanistan.

The Afghan President and Pak military leadership also discussed Pak-Afghan border issues related to fencing on Durand Line while some other bilateral issues of both countries mutual interest have also come under discussion.

Why the visit was tried to remain silent or secret, the sources said that it was mutually decided by both countries with great understanding. Ghani’s plane schedule was also held secret and soon after his landing at the Chaklala AirBase in Rawalpindi, the meeting was held between him and Pak Army Chief.

In the meeting, Ghani keenly discussed the Afghan Peace Process with Bajwa and also appreciated the efforts of Pakistan for a ceasefire in Afghan territory. They also discussed the matter of Pak-Afghan Border Management and Ghani appraised Pak efforts in this regard.

A special point regarding the evacuation of the US Army from Afghanistan and the possible situations that could emerge in absence of it (US Army) also came under discussion and both the leaders talked at length in this regard.
