Decision to carve out new canals from Indus River withdrawn, says Gandapur

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said the decision to carve out new canals from the River Indus was withdrawn during a meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) in Islamabad on Monday.

Talking to the media after the meeting, Gandapur said the CCI reiterated its stance that all provinces should be given their due share of water. He said that nobody would be allowed to usurp other provinces’ rights.
