Fakhar Zaman confident in Lahore Qalandars' progress, calls for balanced pitches

Lahore Qalandars' star batsman Fakhar Zaman has expressed satisfaction with his team's performance in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.  

Speaking to the media, Fakhar said, “Lahore Qalandars have won three matches and lost three, but we are satisfied with the direction we are heading." 

Highlighting the team spirit within the Qalandars camp, he remarked, "We are playing together as one unit and giving tough competition to our opponents."

Addressing the ongoing debate around pitch conditions, Fakhar Zaman stressed the need for a balance between bat and ball. 

"I've been hearing a lot about the pitches. In my view, the surfaces should offer something for the bowlers as well," he said. 

Despite the challenges posed by the pitches, Fakhar pointed out that teams are still able to post scores exceeding 170 runs.

He also suggested that green pitches should be introduced in domestic cricket to prepare our players for varied conditions.

 "Having matches at the same location allows us to acclimatize quickly," he added. 

Fakhar also praised emerging talent Rishad Hossain, describing him as a "highly talented spinner" with a bright future ahead. 

To a question, he said crowds come to support us in every stadium, and their energy motivates us immensely.

Regarding concerns about the weather, Fakhar dismissed the complaints, stating that the current season is favorable for the PSL.

 "There has been unnecessary noise about the heat. Players are unaffected by the conditions; such talk is merely an excuse," he said, encouraging everyone to stay focused on the game.

In response to another question, Fakhar praised the experienced bowler Mohammad Aamir, noting, "Amir is a skilled bowler who knows how to perform in all conditions. 

However, building a successful team requires collective effort; it's never about one player alone."
