Gold prices tumble in Pakistan amid global market dip
Gold prices took a sharp nosedive across Pakistan Monday following a slump in the international market.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of one tola of 24-karat gold fell by Rs1,600, settling at Rs347,100. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs1,368, now priced at Rs297,582.
The decline mirrors the global trend, where gold prices slipped by $16 per ounce, bringing the international rate down to $3,289.
Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold in Pakistan stood at Rs272,784.
On the flip side, silver prices showed resilience, with one tola of 24-karat silver holding steady at Rs3,497, and 10 grams priced at Rs2,998. International silver rates were recorded at $32.97 per ounce.
