Khawaja Asif's Instagram account blocked in India

Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif's Instagram account was blocked in India on Monday. 

Asif made headlines earlier in the day by saying that a military incursion by India was imminent in the aftermath of a deadly attack on tourists in Pahalgam region of Indian-occupied Kashmir last week.

The attack killed 26 people and triggered outrage in India, along with calls for action against Pakistan. 

"We have reinforced our forces because it is something which is imminent now. So in that situation some strategic decisions have to be taken, so those decisions have been taken," Khawaja Muhammad Asif said in an interview at his office in Islamabad.

Meeting with Sri Lankan officials

The Defence Secretary of Sri Lanka, Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Sampath Thuyacontha, and the Navy Commander, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, met Defence Minister Khawaja Asif along with their team in Islamabad on Monday, reported 24|NewsHD TV channel.

In the meeting, both sides agreed to work together to make defence ties stronger.

Asif said Pakistan and Sri Lanka have been friends for a long time. He said they should work together to make their friendship stronger.

The Sri Lankan officials praised the Pakistan Army's professionalism and fight against terrorism.

Both sides were happy with their current cooperation and promised to work together in important areas.
